International students expectations: Aaron Toogood

This research analysed the reasons for expansion in the numbers of International Students entering HE courses and evaluated the issues involved in ensuring success for this group. The research involved finding out the expectations before and during the university experience. For example, he found that students underestimated the importance of social factors in attaining success. Interestingly, Aaron uses Herzbergs ‘ Motivation Theory’ involving Hygiene and Motivation factors to evaluate how to improve the support for International Students at DMU.
